Keeping Your BSCTF Files Up To Date

FTPSync is an application from FileWare Limited to assist you in keeping your BSCTF updated without having to download each file individually from the downloads page.  Should you have an issue connecting to mod servers or if your session starts downloading files when you connect, you can run FTPSync to download any new or updated files...

FTPSync 1m v2.06 Program to assist you in keeping your BSCTF directory synchronized with the latest versions of the mod.

Configuration Files
I have created pre-configured settings files for you to use if your Quake is installed in one of the following directories.  If it is not, you will need to follow the instructions below to configure the software manually.  The following files are to be saved in your FTPSync software directory which is usually \Program Files\FTPSync.
connections.ftp 144b   Quake Installation Directory:  C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\BSCTF
connections.ftp 144b   Quake Installation Directory:  C:\Quake3\BSCTF

Installation Instructions
Download and install FTPSync from this page and configure the software using the following instructions...

Create a new connection and fill in the fields as shown above.  Please note that the Local Path is your BSCTF directory.  It is recommended that you use the "..." button and browse to your BSCTF directory.

Check the Compare on Connect field with BSCTF highlighted and select Connect.

Upon connection, the program will check the BSCTF server's files and compare them to the files in your BSCTF directory.  You will notice that the MapPack04.pk3 file is RED with the arrow pointing left.  This is a new or updated file on the server that you will need to download in order to play.  Click on the button with the green circle to begin the synchronization process...

When the Synchronize Confirm window pops up, check the box with the RED arrow.  DO NOT check the box with the BLUE arrow as that one is for transferring files to the FTP server where you will have read-only access and will generate errors on your local client.  After selecting to transfer files from Remote to Local, click OK to begin downloading the files to your BSCTF directory...
